November Construction Update

Newmarket Quarter’s construction is progressing steadily, with site setup, ground remediation, and bulk excavation advancing as the project enters its next phase.

The transformation of Newmarket Quarter continues to progress steadily, with a series of key early-stage works unfolding across the site. Our team is focused on ensuring a safe, well-managed, and environmentally responsible construction environment as we advance toward shaping this new urban landmark.

Site Establishment and Early Preparations

Initial activity has centred on establishing the construction site, including securing the perimeter, setting up access points, and arranging essential facilities. These foundational steps create a safe and organised workspace for all upcoming operations.

To support best practice environmental management, the team has also implemented sediment-control measures. These systems are designed to minimise runoff and protect the surrounding environment throughout the earthworks phase.

Ground Remediation and Soil Management

Following initial setup, crews began addressing ground conditions across the development area. This has included the removal of any contaminated soil to ensure the site meets the required environmental standards before major construction progresses.

Once that process was completed, the team moved on to stripping topsoil and managing fill materials. This phase involves separating reusable material from that requiring disposal, and shaping the site to prepare for excavation works. These steps are essential for ensuring stable ground conditions for the structures to come.

Bulk Excavation Underway

Bulk earthworks are now well advanced, with teams excavating both managed fill and cleanfill material to shape the building platforms. This phase involves significant machinery onsite and forms one of the major early-stage components of the project. As excavation continues, more of the future layout of Newmarket Quarter is beginning to take shape.

Entry Driveway Retaining Wall

Work has progressed on the retaining wall at the site’s main driveway entry. This structure will support future access points and help define the contours of the development. The construction of the retaining wall represents a visible milestone in transitioning from preparatory to structural activity on the site.

Joal Drainage Installation

As earthworks progress, installation of the joal drainage system has commenced. This integral network will support effective stormwater management for the development. The drainage work will continue alongside other activities over an extended period, ensuring that underground services are completed before construction rises above ground level.

Looking Ahead

With site establishment, environmental controls, early remediation, and major excavation activity well underway, Newmarket Quarter is moving confidently into its next phases. The coming months will see further groundwork, civil works, and preparation for structural construction activity.

We look forward to sharing more updates as the project continues to evolve into a vibrant new destination for Newmarket.
